About me

The short version

I'm Simon. I'm happiest when I'm working with data, and even happier when I can turn it into something you can actually see.

What I do

I lead the data and analytics function for the global Profit Protection team at a global consumer-tech company. I turn messy operational data into tools people actually use, from detecting illicit trade and fraud to dashboards that teams rely on day to day. I work across the whole stack: dbt, BigQuery, Airflow, Tableau and Metabase. Before that, I spent fifteen years in retail, supply chain and logistics.

Outside of work

Music is a big part of my life, and I'm happiest at a gig or a festival. I also follow motorsport and football, enjoy tech and gaming, and try to keep fit. And I never say no to a holiday or a good trip somewhere new.
